Christian Children’s Fund of Canada creates a future of hope for children, families, and communities by helping them to develop the skills and resources required to overcome poverty and pursue justice. The NGO’s headquarters is in Toronto, Canada.
CCFC Country Office in Ouagadougou, Burkina Faso, has achieved in various provinces, remarkable success in child sponsorship programs and community-based projects (schools, rural hydraulics, health, (fight against HIV/AIDS), and so on.
Roles and responsibilities of the country director
The country director is accountable for:
- The overall leadership and operations of the Country Office ;
- Implementing the strategic plan, in accordance with the headquarters’ standards and requirements;
- Making decisions aligned with strategic goals and organisation’s values;
- Identifying new opportunities for improvement and developing solutions to resolve issues;
- Providing direction and support to field partners and holding them accountable for timely deliverables and conscientious use of resources;
- Work teams’ effective management;
- Ensuring the financial integrity and viability of the organisation;
- Building networks in Burkina Faso in order to enhance CCFC’s brand credibility with stakeholders in international development, child advocacy, private sector, government, funders, other NGOs and fundamental community groups;
- Leading the facilitation of community mobilization and capacity building efforts of CCFC Country Office partners and the communities served through networking, advocacy and awareness rising.
Requirements /Qualifications :
- Candidates must hold a minimum of a master degree in Social sciences; management; health and nutrition; water, sanitation or hygiene.
- Candidates must demonstrate a minimum 7 years experience in development, more particularly at executive positions; Experience must be, uppermost, in education; health and nutrition; water, sanitation and hygiene; strengthening institutional and community organizations, Advocacy;
- Candidates must demonstrate a proven experience in practicing Results Based Management (RBM) using Participatory Development Approach (PDA) tools;
- Candidates must demonstrate good abilities in leading monitoring plan – assessment;
- Candidates must have a proven ability in the development process of strategic and operational plans and related budgets, in a context of Results Based Management;
- They must be proficient in financial analysis and information technologies (word processing, databases, project management softwares);
- They must be bilingual fluent in French and English;
- Candidates must demonstrate skills in
– Leading diverse teams in a context of change management;
– Decision-making and conflict management ability;
– Internal and external communication skills (verbal and written);
– Analysis of social, political and economic issues in Burkina Faso;
- Candidates must demonstrate :
– act and diplomacy ;
– lexibility and adaptability,
– Efficient management of employees, meeting health and welfare values within the work place;
– Availability for extensive local and international travels.
